چکیده

In a variety of different engineering systems there is a requirement to isolate sensitive equipment from foundation vibration or alternatively, isolate the foundation from machinery vibration. Passive solutions to this problem provide some isolation but performance is significantly degraded in the presence of structural compliance. A recently proposed hybrid active/passive solution known as the “Smart Spring” mounting system specifically addresses this problem of compliance. In earlier work on this system the required local controller was based on LQG design on the assumption that the vibration sources are random. The work reported here investigates the application of a repetitive control approach to deal with periodic vibration sources. The industrial potential of the approach has been shown using an experimental facility where isolation results in the region of 50dB have been achieved. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

A Novel Adaptive Structural Impedance Control Approach to Suppress Aircraft Vibration and Noise

Significant levels of undesired vibration and noise are inherent in transport and combat vehicles, particularly in helicopters and propeller aircraft. Therefore, it is important to investigate techniques that reduce vibration and noise in the cabin to improve habitability, effectiveness, and safety for passengers. In addition, continuous exposure may lead to long-term physiological effects. In ...

Engine Mounting Characteristic for Vibration Isolation and Active Vibration Control Strategies

With the trend of lighter vehicle and more powerful engine (power plant) passengers are subjected to large vibration and harshness coming from the engine through the chassis. This paper discusses the application of active vibration control to reduce this vibration effect. Using a mass-spring-damper model which represents a passive engine mount, dynamic characteristic of the mount is obtained fo...

Compact and Efficient Active Vibro-acoustic Control of a Smart Plate Structure

An effective wide band active control law through one kind of the Dynamic Vibration Absorber (DVA) is proposed and studied in this paper. With the help of mechanical impedance method, active DVA control law is formulated based on the passive mechanical model. The electrical DVA can generate multi-mode active damping to the structure. The host structure is an aluminum plate and acceleration sign...

Active vibration control of smart building frames by feedback controllers

In this paper the active vibration control of a four-story shear frame instrumented with piezoelectric actuators is presented. The piezoelectric actuators are hosted on the columns in two manners and the produced controlling forces by actuators are considered in the equation of motion. The smart structure modeling and control design is carried out using MATLAB software in state space form. Subs...

Adjoint multivariable repetitive control algorithm for active control of vibration

In this paper a well-known adjoint SISO Repetitive Control algorithm is extended to the multivariable case and its convergence properties are analysed. The new adjoint algorithm is validated using a simulation of an experimental facility consisting of a passive Naval vibration isolation mount that is combined with six active control channels located in a Stewart platform style arrangement. The ...
